The bus drives on
In 2011 Arne Hulstein organised the first StartupBus Europe — a bus full of strangers who had seventy-two hours to build a startup together. They could not get off the bus. What emerged wasn't just six startups: it was the realisation that a very specific combination of factors — confined space, time pressure, forced proximity — makes people do things they would never do in a meeting room or at a hackathon.
He took that realisation and made it available to organisations. Not for strangers who happen to meet on a bus and never see each other again, but for teams that sit next to each other every day and still don't reach the breakthrough they need. ChallengeBus puts your own people on the road, with your own challenge, with the same mechanism that has already proven its worth since 2011.
Since then, six editions have followed. With companies, government bodies, educational institutions and healthcare organisations. The bus has driven through Europe and back, with groups from five to eighty people on board. Each time with the same result: more happened in a few days on the bus than would have happened in months of meetings.
