Active since 2011, six editions, over three hundred participants, more than sixty concepts built. Numbers don't tell everything, so below also the story behind them.
Two buses, eighty students, twelve hours
HZ University of Applied Sciences wanted, in collaboration with Dockwize and JRCZ, for their students not just to study the chain they'd be working in, but to experience it. So eighty students, spread across two buses, boarded early in the morning for a day that wouldn't take place on a campus. Along the way they visited companies in the protein transition chain, looking for opportunities for the use of seaweed, and spoke to people who normally only appeared in a course reader.
What this day also shows: the concept doesn't only work with one bus and a small team of five. It scales to two buses and eighty people, without the core changing. Still no escape, still a fixed destination, still more learned than a regular day would have produced.
